Bishop’s Orchard Cuts Ribbon on Solar Project

May 4, 2018

Join us for a ribbon cutting and tour of the system during apple blossom season.

Bishop’s Orchards, a 6th generation family-run business since 1871, operates a specialty market and 313-acre farm and winery. On May 4, they will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open two solar projects: one at the Market and another solar field across the street. CT Farm Energy provided technical assistance to the farm in order to implement the installation of a 357 kW ground mounted solar array to offset 70% of Bishop’s Orchards annual usage.

This system consists of 1,066 ground mounted solar panels, which is equivalent to 37.8 homes’ energy use for one year. In conjunction with the system installed at the Market, the systems will offset 80% of annual electric usage.
